Tell me something good

Katie, proving again that cats have no
concept of personal space.
Here is an idea shamelessly stolen from a friend on Facebook.

This has been a tough year, for most of us and for many reasons, and I have found myself feeling a bit worn down.  With the new year upon us, and reflecting on the past year, it can be disheartening.

But then my friend said, "Can you tell me one good thing that happened to you this year?"

Even in a challenging year, there have been amazing bright spots.

Here are a few of mine:  in October, I paid off my house.  Now we can look for a new place that is OURS.  I also worked out a way to work for myself and others without losing my mind. Mostly. I  made some wonderful new crafting friends.  I survived sewing summer camp.

So what is yours? Tell me something good.

Paid off your house - wow what an achievement!
I had a great trip to South Africa's Garden Route and had a ride on an elephant, it was amazing!

Hmm. Well I travelled to England (from Australia) all by myself. I reached a savings goal in my superannuation fund. But not much sewing was done. Hoping 2018 will be a sewing success year.

Lovely idea. Also crap year for me. One good thing... I got a permanent job... although I've been working full time for 18 months (since finishing a degree in 2013 and not having worked for 12 years) it's been on casual contract. It's a great office culture from a great management team. Paying off your house is a great achievement... I did this a while ago and that allowed me to stay home with my son while being a single parent... it's falling to bits but it's mine .. it gives such liberty when owning your own home. Good luck house hunting again.

Wishing you all the best in the New Year. So far, status quo has been a good thing, and we are inching closer to our goal of moving to another state.

The kid got married to a wonderful man, and his family. I met you and Mario in real life. 2018 WILL be better! - Heather

Happy New Year. My dd got married to a wonderful man. My son and his wife move to Swarthmore and it's only about a 3 hour drive. So while it's been a depressing year in many ways, there were some wonderful things that happened.
This is a lovely idea.

Granddaughter #2 arrived a bit early, but healthy and beautiful! (Aren’t all grandchildren beautiful?) Her 2 1/2 yr old sister is happy with her new role as big sis, although there was a rough bit when she learned that Gpa has to be shared with the baby.

After a one month stay in hospital and 3 surgeries my husband's leg was saved. In july we had a beautiful one week holiday in Belgium.

This is a fantastic idea!! Good for you for paying off the mortgage. Congratulations!

I won a really big award at work! Didn't expect it, didn't feature anywhere in my wishlists!
